For taller trees with a narrow spreading canopy use a single 36° spot light at the base of the tree angled upwards, such as an Apollo35
Tip:
When placing lights close to the base of the tree, specify a spike mounted fitting rather than a recessed fittings as the tree’s root system is more, dense at the base and therefore harder to install a recessed fitting.
Spike mounted fittings also give you more flexibility in moving the fitting to find the optimum lighting position and allows for re-positioning with seasonal fluctuation.
