Outdoor Lighting Trends

Finding the perfect outdoor lights for your garden can sometimes be difficult but keeping up with the latest garden lighting trends can be even more difficult. The right lights can simply transform any garden so we’ve put together a list of our favourite, current lighting trends and the Elipta products that you can use.

As always, it's important to check that any lights that you are purchasing and using outside should be at least IP44 rated for optimum safety.

Solar Powered Lights

Solar powered lights are becoming more popular as they’re an easy and functional light in the garden as they require no expert installation or wiring. Solar lights are ideal for lighting up around pathways and patios as they give off a low level of lighting in the evening. One advantage of using solar lights is that they can easily be moved around the garden if needed.
At Lighting for Gardens, we’ve got a new solar lantern that is perfect for any modern outdoor space. Additionally, the Elipta Solar/USB Rechargeable Outdoor Lantern can be charged using a USB type B charger meaning it can be used all year round.

Outdoor Floor Lamps

Outdoor floor lamps are becoming more and more popular for outdoor lighting. These lights are a great choice for outdoor lighting as they are versatile and can be moved around the garden to light up different areas when needed.
The Elipta Rechargeable Outdoor Floor Lamps have a simple yet stylish design with a black powder coated finish – ideal for lighting up any modern garden space. These floor lamps have a 9 hour battery life, when fully charged, making them an ideal light for longer summer evenings.

Outdoor Wall Lights

Wall lights are a practical choice for outdoor lighting as they can be used to enhance the security and safety of the home, as well as bringing your garden to life. These lights can include a variety of different features including PIR sensors and timers.
Lighting for Gardens have a variety of outdoor wall lights available ranging from traditional lanterns to modern up & down wall lights. All our Elipta wall lights are made from high quality materials such as natural copper, high-grade stainless steel, and solid brass.

Smart Security Lights

The safety and security of your home is important which is why more people are now opting for security lights or smart lights. These lights are becoming more advanced and can now easily be controlled through your phone, this can include switching the lights on and off, setting light intensity and changing the colour of the lights (RGB only).
At Lighting for Gardens, we have a range of Light Symphony products that can be installed to control any existing outdoor lights. Find out more about the Light Symphony range here.

Step Lights

The use of step lights outdoors can help highlight and increase the safety of your steps during the evenings. Step lights vary in design from strip lights, that can be installed in between the steps, to recessed/wall lights that can be installed into the walls so the light can shine onto the steps from the side.
At Lighting for Gardens, we have a range of step lights available including the Elipta Linear Step Light and the Elipta Waymarker 360 Recessed Light. All our Elipta step lights are constructed from heavy raw materials including natural copper, solid brass and 316 stainless steel.

Recessed Lights

Recessed lights are a great choice for outdoor lighting as they are multi-purpose lights that can be used all around the garden to light up garden features, plants, pathways, driveways and much more. An advantage of using these lights is that they aren’t a trip hazard as they’re installed into the surface – making them safe to be used all around the garden.
At Lighting for Gardens, there’s a wide selection of recessed lights available including underwater lights like the Elipta Lumimax Recessed Light. Additionally, there is also a wide range of accessories available to help create different lighting effects throughout the garden.
